The young star is set for a big 2017.
Yesterday, The Hollywood Reporter was given a first look at Elle Fanning as the titular horror author in Mary Shelley, directed by Haifaa al-Mansou (who made waves with her debut feature Wadjda (2012) as the first-ever female Saudi filmmaker).
Elle Fanning has been making a name for herself lately, appearing in last year’s The Neon Demon and 20th Century Women, two very different but acclaimed films. This year, she will star in both Sofia Coppola’s The Beguiled and John Cameron Mitchell’s How to Talk to Girls at Parties. With both a tremendous emotional capacity as an actress and a keen ability to select high-caliber projects, Fanning is already solidifying herself as one of the most talented young actors of her generation.
HanWay Films is handling the distribution for Mary Shelley, and is currently shopping the film to buyers in Berlin. The film will be released later this year.
For now, enjoy the new trailer for her next film:
