The good news seems to come early whenever we’re in Comic-Con mode. Not only are we making fantastical time on our Road Trip to Comic-Con Explosion-Fest 2009 (which I’m currently live-twatting (please don’t follow me on twitter)), but we’ve got wi-fi off of some cactus in the desert that’s feeding us some awesome movie news.
According to Ye Olde Variety Dot Com, Darren Lynn Bousman is going to be signing on to direct Abattoir – which, Rejects, happens to be the French word for “Slaughterhouse.” I’m not going to pretend that I knew that, but it’s been really nice to learn something new. C’est vrai!
The story has to do with a real estate agent who has to sell a mansion where a bloodbath took place. He’s visited by a creepy old dude, and then the magic happens. I honestly have no idea what that means, but the title is Slaughterhouse, so I’m not going to complain. It’s unclear as to why the title is a French word.
It’s also unclear as to when the production will commence since Bousman has already signed on to direct a remake of Mother’s Day. But, I definitely dig his work so I’m looking forward to see what the guy has to offer now that the Saw franchise is heading into it’s Twilight years. And by that, I mean that it’s getting old and it’s getting about as crappy as Twilight.
