It’s been more than a week since the big finale, and we’re still talking about Lost. I say give it a few weeks and it will be old news. But for now, we’re going to continue on our quest for answers. Sort of. Today we’re continuing on our quest to round up all of the unanswered questions, which mark some of the most frustrating parts of the way the show ended. The folks at College Humor have assembled them in this mostly insightful, often humorous video entitled “Unanswered Lost Questions.” Subtle, I know. Spoilers from here on out, so beware.
A lot of my own personal frustrations revolve around Daniel Faraday and the events of season four and five. Most of them are scientific – why is there only one direction that you could go in order to leave the island? How was Christian Shepherd off the island if, in fact, he was the Man in Black (who couldn’t leave the Island? What’s the deal with Walt? Who finished building the underground wheel? All of these things were left unanswered, and in my mind it was a result of the show disregarding the importance of a lot of the things that made it interesting in the first four seasons. The little details that kept fans guessing along the way. It’s understandable that producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse wouldn’t be able to tie up all of the loose ends of six years of storytelling, but as you’ll see, some of these are pretty big.
