After swimming blindly through the current of excited fans flooding the convention center at Preview Night for Comic-Con, I – an inexperienced swimmer – got majorly overwhelmed. I would have drowned if I hadn’t lashed together a raft made from the corpse of other unfortunate Comic-Conners and ran aground against Archimedes, the ship piloted by Nite Owl II in Zack Snyder’s forthcoming, super-ridiculously anticipated Watchmen adaptation.
As you can see, if Neil actually loaded the pictures into this post instead of playing with his new Dark Knight figurines, the full-scale model of the airship used in filming was a sight to behold. From bow to aft, it’s designed based on the specifications in the original graphic novel, complete with gear shifts and monitors (although we assume it will be filled out even more by magical CGI).
Sadly, they denied my request to take it for a spin to practice my underwater parallel parking because my Blood Alcohol Level appeared to be above the legal limit. Rest assured, I’ll try to sober up enough to bring a ton more Watchmen news throughout the week.
