The Mechanic Trailer: It Wants To Kill You

By  · Published on March 18th, 2010

If you had told me that I’d be writing up three trailers this evening and that the one starring Jason Statham would be the most appealing one I’d have called you mad. Mad! But that’s just what happened tonight…

The Mechanic is a remake of the classic Charles Bronson flick about a professional hitman who trains a protege (Jan Michael Vincent) only to see the young turk turn against him. It’s an awesome flick and one of my favorite Bronson movies alongside Mr. Majestyk and 10 To Midnight. Director Simon West has taken the reigns on this update casting Statham in the Bronson role and Ben “Crazy Fucker” Foster as the younger assassin. Check out the trailer below.

This actually looks like fun, and that’s due in no small part to the presence of Foster. “You want me to kill him, not rape him right?” You just know that Foster has probably said that in real life at some time or another don’t you? The action looks solid, the sex scene looks saucy, and Foster is always entertaining. It’s definitely a step above some of Statham’s recent flicks too.

The Mechanic is due out by the end of the year.

What do you think of the trailer? Have you seen the original?
