Sarah Jessica Parker is continuing to milk that cash-cow known as New York fashion, by starring in a new movie entitled The Ivy Chronicles about the life of a fashionable woman with an exciting career living on the Upper East Side. In case you think you’re having déjà-vu, rest assured: there is a twist. She loses everything! Sounds great.

For years, SJP dominated television ratings as Carrie Bradshaw, the cool New York journalist on Sex and the City. Doing what she does best, SJP is making yet another movie following the same basic premise. Based on the novel by Karen Quinn, The Ivy Chronicles tells the tale of Ivy Ames, who after losing her fabulous lifestyle and getting a divorce, starts over downtown with a business that helps mothers get their children into elite kindergartens.

Parker’s latest flick, the hugely successful Sex and the City movie grossed more than $300 million. Hopefully, this fashionista can make her new movie just as popular. While Parker is still in talks with Warner Bros. over the film, it’s more than likely that she’ll be their it-girl. As a small town girl myself, anything New York based and SJP is fine by me. So does The Ivy Chronicles say fun and fabulous, or make you stifle a yawn?
