The ‘Batman vs. Superman’ Movie Continues to Unfold

The image above has been circulating around the web all day, passing itself off as the official logo for the upcoming Batman/Superman team-up movie. The still-untitled, Zack Snyder directed project is in the writing stages and as far as we can tell, Warner Bros. has not officially produced any artwork. So it could be the creation of an excited, intrepid fan. Either way, it’s close to the logo that appeared on screen at Comic-Con over the weekend. All that aside, the world is already trying to dig into what this movie is all about. We don’t know what it’s called for sure ‐ many are calling it World’s Finest, after the popular comic series ‐ but writer David S. Goyer has started talking about his script and its potential titles.

Speaking with, Goyer talked about the numerous title possibilities, all of which seem to have our two heroes at odds:

So over in Hall H at the Warner Bros., I guess most people know now, at the end of the Warner Bros. panel Zack came out and he brought Harry Lennix, who plays General Swanwick in Man of Steel and we –- actually, Harry read a bit from [The Dark Knight Returns] and so the next film we’re making, we’re already in pre-production, comes out in summer of 2015. We’re actually not sure whether the title is Superman vs. Batman or Batman vs. Superman but yes, it’s –- that rematch, that combination, the two guys onscreen and that’s happening.

No really, what is it going to be called? We probably won’t know for a while, but our friends at /Film have a few theories based on some domain registrar research:

It seems they [Warner Bros.] own both and as well as They don’t, however, own That makes it seem pretty likely that the title of the Man of Steel sequel will be Batman vs. Superman.

Let the guessing game commence. World’s Finest, Batman vs. Superman, Superman vs. Batman ‐ none of these would be bad titles for the the film. The real questions at large center around casting of one of the titular characters: who is going to play Batman? With the film scheduled to begin shooting late this year, it stands to reason that we should know soon enough.

For those who missed the triumphant announcement at Comic-Con, a fan has posted the following video. It’s brief, but a lot of fun:
