In yet another one of their fight scenes, Rey and Kylo Ren destroy what looks like the charred helmet of Darth Vader, which Kylo Ren cherishes. Rey is holding a dagger in her other hand, which fans are speculating could be the Dagger of Mortis.

Finn leads the charge into battle across the back of a Star Destroyer?! Presumably, within the atmosphere of a planet for that to make any sense. Here’s hoping the Star Destroyer doesn’t try any evasive maneuvers, or these heroes might find themselves sliding off the edge. Above them, X-Wings, B-Wings, and TIE Fighters are engaged in combat.

The Emperor menaces Rey, who looks very small in this shot. If throwing him into the reactor of an exploding Death Star was not enough to kill him before, how can she possibly expect to vanquish him now?

But Rey seems bolstered as Luke narrates the famous Jedi words, “The Force will be with you…”

And Leia finishes for him, “…always.” This optimistic note is a complete turn-around from the D-23 trailer, which ends with a shot of a potentially Dark Rey wielding an improbable red lightsaber. Clearly, Disney is trying to mess with the expectations of fans by releasing trailers with such different tones.

This trailer is heavy on the Star Wars nostalgia, which should be unsurprising for the final installment in a decades-long saga. It remains to be seen whether Abrams will rely too heavily on nostalgia — as was the case in The Force Awakens, which was criticized as being an almost direct reboot of A New Hope — or whether this storyline will take risks to wrap up the Skywalker storyline which started way back in 1977. Star Wars stands out in terms of how intense and passionate its fans can be, so what is certain is that it will be impossible to please everyone.

The Skywalker Saga comes to a close with Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker arriving in theaters on December 19th.
