Presumably, the Death Star fell into the atmosphere of the planet Endor or one of its nine moons after being destroyed, and that is where it has remained in the decades since. Since the planet of Endor (not to be mistaken with the Forest Moon of Endor that was a prominent setting in Return of the Jedi) is a gas giant according to the Star Wars: Galactic Atlas, it is likely one of the other moons.

Kylo makes a dramatic entrance wielding his iconic lightsaber. However, he looks pretty wet, so it seems likely that his shirt will have to come off in this scene…

Dark forces are gathering at this space iceberg while TIE Fighter squadrons arrive and the Emperor intones, “Long have I waited…”

The climax of the original trilogy was the (supposed) death of the Emperor at the hands of his apprentice, Darth Vader. In the extended universe, he survived being thrown from his throne room into the reactor of an exploding Death Star by separating his soul from his body and surviving as a Force ghost. There were also a bunch of clones. Alternatively, the Emperor was the apprentice of Darth Plagueis the Wise, who taught him secrets about evading death.
