‘Snake Outta Compton’ Exists, So Anything’s Possible

Some truly bizarre shit is going down.

Some truly bizarre shit is going down.

Earlier today, I was thinking about how there are times when things feel impossible. Like having a massive crush on someone who lives 1,768 miles away from you. Or the general tone of our cultural existence being something in between “existential dread about the state of things” and “what will you do when the missiles are inbound and we have minutes to live.” Sometimes happiness, or what we believe to be a world of justice and tolerance, feel so far away.

It’s up to us to choose how we deal with these things. Today, I’m choosing to be cautiously optimistic. Because you never know, life might work out in the end. Or we’ll all die in the hellfire of nuclear war.

Why am I choosing to be so optimistic on a Tuesday afternoon in October? Because of this trailer for Snake Outta Compton. There’s no reason for this movie to exist, but it does and I’m here for it. Just start with this logline:

A young rap group is on the verge of making it big in the midst of an attack from a giant reptile.

I don’t know about you, but I’m already in line for this summer 2018 release. Someone spent a (lower-than-average) amount of money to make this dream a reality and I won’t stand in their way.
