SFotD: ‘The Bigger Picture’ Invents a Better Magic Camera

Why Watch? Not just because Instagram is going to sell your work, and not just because this little trick has been used in plenty of stories before, but because Matt Young has found a way to update the old Magic Camera conceit for a theoretical physics-loving age.

As his wife feverishly bakes at home, a man stops by a shop to buy her a standing mixer but is distracted when he spies a Polaroid camera lying on the muddy ground of an alley. He takes a picture, but what develops is something that will change their lives.

Written and directed with a kind of spry science fiction, this short is a bit sweet, and a little bit silly, but it gets points for being charmingly entertaining and for breathing new life into an old twist of events.

What will it cost you? Only 2 minutes.
