Soon you will be able to see The Interview – the comedy starring James Franco and Seth Rogen and journalists who are asked to use their exclusive interview with North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Un to commit an assassination. You’ll be able to see it in a movie theater or in the uniquely American tradition of sitting on your own couch, in your own living room, with no pants on. After two weeks of turmoil over the release of this otherwise innocuous farce, Sony Pictures has delivered an All-American Christmas Gift to the world (except for North Korea).
Below, we’ve rounded up all the available details for the re-re-release. We can now tell you how you can watch The Interview.*
First and most importantly, The Interview will be available around the country via numerous Video On Demand platforms. As The Hollywood Reporter explains, the film will be available today (12/24) at 1PM EST. It will be available for rental for $6 and purchase for $14.99. It will stream via the outlets listed below as well as the Sony-run website www.seetheinterview.com.

But what if you want to leave your home and see it in a theater? As was reported by numerous outlets yesterday, The Interview will be released in select theaters on Christmas Day as originally planned. In a move that was championed by Twitter, President Barack Obama and the likes of Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin and Alamo Drafthouse CEO Tim League, Sony will allow the independent theaters that want to run the film to play it.
