After wandering around for years, Danny has settled in a small town. Here, we also meet his friend Billy Freeman (Cliff Curtis). In the book, Billy is a pivotal ally of Danny’s who helps him in his quest to defeat the evil that hunts him. Billy knows that Danny is “running away from something,” but as we’ll discover later, he can’t escape it.
In this scene, a hand touches Danny while he sleeps. When he wakes up and darts out of the bed, however, the room is empty. Is he traumatized and experiencing delusions, or is there something more supernatural afoot?
In this scene, Danny reveals that he’s running away from himself. He’s clearly traumatized, which is understandable considering everything he’s been through.
Cut to Danny’s first interaction with Abra (Kyliegh Curran), a teenager who also possesses the shining ability.
