Every Question in Westworld, One Supercut

By  · Published on December 9th, 2016

The year’s most labyrinthine series gets all its mysteries collected.

Westworld is all about questions. The HBO series is a chain of mysteries both intimate and epic, and now as we stand in the wake of the season finale, we find that while some of these questions have been answered and their mysteries solved, these solutions only present more, even deeper mysteries begging more questions. It’s a real circuit of uncertainty, Westworld, and that’s precisely why millions around the world have become rapt with it.

I’ve been at FSR for about six weeks now, and two people I’ve been eagerly waiting to introduce to new readers who might not have followed One Perfect Shot are Andy Schneider and Jonathan Britnell of Burger Fiction. If you don’t know the specific names, you’ve likely seen their work, as Schneider and Britnell are two of the best supercutters in the field, and have produced such memorable videos as Every Tom Cruise Run Ever, The Evolution of the Joker, 100 Greatest One Liners After the Kill, and the uber-impressive Movie Phone Super Call. They’ve been on hiatus since I’ve been here, but now they’re back with the Westworld Mystery Question Supercut, and I think it’s the perfect intro to BF for first-time viewers.

What they’ve done is take every mysterious, cryptic, foreboding, and leading question in the series’ first season and compiled it into a seven-minute video that will have you pondering life, the universe, and everything by its conclusion. Naturally, there be spoilers here, so if you’re not up to date with Westworld, get that way before you press play. And regardless, get to know the work of Schneider and Britnell, it’s consistently compelling.
